By setting a limit on the number of times a service can be accepted, it is possible to disallow more bookings than the limit, either overall or per guest.
Limit of the total number of accepted bookings
Edit booking page >Workflow > Service and payment > Edit service and payment > Total number of accepted reservations
Important: The limit is counted per service
The total number of accepted bookings is counted per service, not per booking page. If the same service is linked to multiple booking pages, the bookings accepted on all of those booking pages are added together. Bookings accepted in the past on other booking pages are also counted toward the limit, so guests may see a message that the limit has been exceeded even though only a few bookings have been made on the current booking page.
If you want to set a separate limit for each booking page, create a separate service for each booking page and link it.
Setting example
Set the overall limit to 10 bookings
If a guest tries to make a new booking after 10 bookings have been made overall, the system will display a message indicating that the reservation cannot be made.
Limit on the number of bookings per guest
Edit booking page > Workflow > Service and payment > Edit service and payment > Acceptance limit per guest
Setting example
Set the limit to one booking per guest.
If a guest tries to make a reservation when a reservation has already been made once, the system displays a message indicating that the reservation cannot be made.
Set the limit to one reservation per guest per day.
If a guest tries to make a reservation on a day when the guest has already made one reservation, a message will be displayed indicating that the reservation cannot be made.
When changing the booking time, the guest will not be able to change to a day for which he/she already has a reservation.
Set the limit to one reservation per guest per week.
If a guest tries to make a reservation for a week in which he/she has already made one reservation, the message "Cannot make a reservation" will be displayed.
When changing a booking time, the guest will not be able to change to a week in which the same guest has already made another booking.
Set the limit to one reservation per guest per month.
If a guest tries to make a reservation in a month in which the guest has already made one reservation, the message "Cannot make a reservation" will be displayed.
When changing a booking time, the guest will not be able to change to a month in which the same guest has already made another booking.
Troubleshooting
I cannot make a booking even though I have linked an existing limit on the overall number of times a booking can be accepted to a bookin page.
If the overall limit has been reached for a service, even if it is linked to a new reservation page, the reservation cannot be made because the limit has been reached. You need to create a new service and link it to a new reservation page.
The limit should not have been reached, but a message says the limit has been exceeded and bookings cannot be made
If the same service is used on multiple booking pages, bookings accepted on other booking pages (including past bookings) may have been added together and reached the limit. Please try the following:
- Change the total number of accepted bookings to "Do not set"
- Increase the limit
- Create a new service and link it to the booking page
Note that the total number of accepted bookings is not automatically reset per day, week, or month. If you want to operate the limit for a specific period, such as monthly, consider duplicating the service for each period and linking the new service to the booking page.
