If a booking made on a Jicoo booking page does not appear in a connected calendar such as Google Calendar, please check the following points in order.
*This page covers adding bookings made in Jicoo to your connected calendar as events. If you want calendar events to block booking slots, see this page.
1. The event is created in the assigned host’s “Writable Calendars”
The event is created in the calendar that the host handling the booking has set under “Writable Calendars” (“Calendar to add events” in the settings dialog) in Calendar Connections.
If you use automatic host assignment (round robin), the event is created only in the assigned host’s calendar. You can check the assigned host on the booking details screen.
On booking pages that do not use automatic host assignment, the event is created in the calendar of the host with the “Owner” role on the booking page, and the other hosts are invited to it. If an invited event does not appear in a calendar, see this page.
No event is created in the calendars of members to be notified only, and they are not invited either.
If “Calendar destination” under Edit Booking Page > Workflow is set to “Common calendar”, the event is created in the selected common calendar instead of the host’s calendar.
2. When the event is created
The event is created when the booking is confirmed. On the following booking pages, the booking is confirmed at a different point:
Booking requests (approval required): when the host approves the request
Booking pages with advance payment: when the payment is completed
If the event cannot be created because of a temporary error, it is retried automatically, so the event may be added some time after the booking.
3. Bookings made before a setting change or during a connection error
If you set “Writable Calendars” after a booking was made, or a booking was made while the calendar connection had an error (such as an expired authorization), the event is not created automatically afterwards, even after you reconnect.
See this page for how to check the connection status and reconnect.
4. The event was deleted in the connected calendar
If an event created by Jicoo is deleted in the connected calendar, the Jicoo booking remains valid and the event is not recreated automatically.
In Google Calendar, deleted events stay in the trash for a certain period. Events can also be deleted by other people who can edit the same calendar, or by other apps connected to the calendar.
If you later change the assigned host in Jicoo, an event is created in the new host’s calendar. Please use the Jicoo booking list to reschedule, cancel or change the host.
5. If you change the assigned host
When you change the assigned host, an event is created in the new host’s calendar and the event in the previous host’s calendar is deleted.
If none of the above applies, please contact us via chat with the URL of the booking details screen. We will look into the records of the event being created for that booking, as far as they are available.
