You can change the visibility settings of your connected calendar to specify what is shared with other members.
Changes can be made from the Calendar Account Settings page:
When using calendar integration, "how events appear to team members" and "whether to accept bookings (blocking time slots)" are determined by separate settings. To prevent unintended bookings or visibility due to confusion, please check how the system works below.
1. Common Misconceptions and Notes
Misconception 1: Setting visibility to "Hide Details" will stop bookings from coming in.
Fact: Bookings are blocked by the "Busy / Free" setting on your external calendar. Even if your Jicoo setting is "Hide Details," any time slot marked as "Free" on your external calendar will be treated as an open slot, and bookings will still come through.
Misconception 2: Setting visibility to "Private" will hide the details from the person who connected the calendar.
Fact: The details of the events are always visible on the Jicoo screen of the user who connected the calendar (the currently logged-in account), regardless of the settings. They are only hidden from the perspective of "other team members."
2. Quick Reference for Settings and Behavior
Depending on your goal, please combine the settings on your external calendar and Jicoo.
① Time Slot Blocking (External Calendar Settings)
External Calendar Event | Booking Behavior in Jicoo |
Busy | The time slot is blocked, and no bookings can be made. |
Free | The time slot is not blocked and is available for bookings as an "open slot." |
② Visibility to Team Members (Jicoo "Team Sharing" Settings)
Team Sharing Setting | How it appears to other team members |
Private | Treated as private within the team (Label: Private). |
Hide Details | Only a "Busy" block is displayed within the team, and details are hidden (Label: Hide Details). |
Public | Event titles and details are fully visible to team members. |
3. How Events Created in Jicoo Appear on the "Connected Calendar"
Here is how events created on the Jicoo calendar will appear to other members on your connected calendar (e.g., Google Calendar):
Public: Displayed including all event details.
Hide Details: Displayed as "Busy," but detailed information is not shown.
Private: Displayed as "Busy," but detailed information is not shown. (Or treated entirely as Private)
4. Note on "Who Can See What"
The person who connected the calendar (You)
Regardless of the settings, you can always view the event details of your connected calendar on Jicoo.
Other team members
Depending on the "Team Sharing" settings above, details will either be shown or replaced with "Busy," etc.
[Important] When multiple people share a single Jicoo account login
Since the system treats everyone logged in as the "same user (the person who connected the calendar)," if you connect a personal calendar, the event details will be visible to everyone sharing that login. If you want to keep your personal events private, please create separate individual Jicoo accounts and use the Team feature.
5. Frequently Asked Questions (Troubleshooting)
Q. Bookings are coming in at times that should be blocked (times when I have scheduled events).
A. Please check the following items in order:
In Jicoo's calendar integration settings, ensure that the calendar is checked as a "Calendar to check for conflicts".
In Google Calendar (or your external calendar), ensure the specific event is set to "Busy" (If it is set to "Free," it will not be blocked).
If this is happening on a shared team page, first check your "individual booking page where only you are the host" to see if the corresponding time slot is correctly blocked (grayed out).
