How to change the input fields on the booking page to descriptive, radio buttons, or checkboxes

Updated this week

How to set up the form

Yes, booking page fields can be customized in addition to the basic fields.

Placeholders and descriptions help users to more clearly understand what they are supposed to enter in each field.

To customize the fields, go to “Edit Booking Page” > ‘Form’ > “Customize Question Fields”.

Selecting “Add Item” will allow you to set up a question item (required, etc.). (You can also set a required field).

Available Field Types

You can choose from the following field types:

  • Single-line Text: For short text input (e.g., company name).

  • Multi-line Text (Paragraph): For long text input (e.g., inquiry details).

  • Email Address: For email address input.

  • Phone Number: For phone number input.

  • Name: For name input.

  • Name (Family Name, Given Name): To input family name and given name separately.

  • Radio Button (single choice): Select only one option from multiple choices.

  • Checkbox (multiple choice): Select one or more options from multiple choices.

  • Dropdown (single choice): Select only one option from a dropdown list.

  • Insert Text: To display fixed text, such as explanations or headings.

Setting Input Assistance for Each Field (Placeholders and Description Text)

For most of the field types listed above (excluding "Insert Text"), you can now set "placeholders" and "description text" to assist users with their input. This helps reduce user confusion and input errors, leading to a smoother booking experience.

  1. Placeholder:

    • This is sample text displayed faintly within the input field (e.g., "Yamada Taro" or "e.g., e-mail address"").

    • It automatically disappears when the user starts typing.

    • How to set: Enter the desired text in the "Placeholder" field on the edit screen for each field.

    • For fields with multiple input boxes, such as "Name (Family Name, Given Name)": Enter the placeholders for "Family Name" and "Given Name" separated by a single space (e.g., entering "Yamada Taro" will display "Yamada" as the placeholder in the family name field and "Taro" in the given name field). Furigana placeholders can be set similarly.

  2. Description Text:

    • This is supplementary text displayed below the field name (label) (e.g., "Please enter a phone number where you can be reached during the day").

    • It can provide users with detailed guidance, such as input rules, important notes, or information on how personal data is handled.

    • How to set: Enter the text in the "Description text" field on the edit screen for each field (max 2000 characters, plain text only).

This input assistance can be configured in the "Basic Settings" tab on the edit screen for each field.
